We were short on time so did a shortened version of this — parked at Cabo do Larano (for others, here’s the Google Maps location: Q56X+5R Machico, Portugal; note that it’s a steep climb and a small lot for fewer than 10 cars) and hiked to Boca do Risco, then from that viewpoint, we walked down to the town (you’ll be walking toward Machico). As soon as you hit pavement, there’s a small bar to your right (P6RF+8X Machico, Portugal) with friendly people who helped us order a taxi that delivered us back to our car. We arrived at the bar 2.5 hours after starting out, including lunch and taking photos. Beautiful hike — so glad we were able to experience such beauty with the time we had — thank you!
